Apple Unveils iOS 26 Featuring Major Design Overhaul

Apple officially announced the new version of the iOS system and named it iOS 26. The first new thing in the system is that the version numbers will align with the year they are released.

New design:

iOS 26 comes with a new design called Liquid Glass, which is like pouring water on the system. You will see that most system areas have become transparent and have a three-dimensional design. Apple says that the new design will improve the design of apps on the screen and their appearance, making them feel like they fill the entire screen.

Apple Intelligence updates:

Apple didn't talk much about artificial intelligence during the announcement of iOS 26, but it revealed new features based on Apple Intelligence that will be available in the system. These features include a direct translation feature that will automatically translate messages in chats between you and your friends, as well as video calls and voice calls.

The Visual Intelligence feature will analyze the content displayed on the screen and allow you to search for anything related to it on Google Search without leaving the app or asking ChatGPT about it. The feature can also determine the dates of any event and add them directly to the calendar.

The Genmoji feature has received a new update, allowing you to merge two emojis together. Apple also revealed the availability of the programming interface for creating AI models directly on iPhones for developers for free to facilitate the integration of AI into the applications they provide on iOS.

Communication app:

The call app has received an important feature called Call Screening, which answers calls on your behalf and provides you with a summary of the call, or you can choose to answer if you want. Additionally, there is the Hold Assist feature, which can be activated when you are answered through recorded messages, and it will alert you when a customer service representative is available to assist you. This feature is only available in the United States.

Messaging app:

The Messages app has received a new update that will add messages sent from unregistered numbers to a separate file from the messages you receive from people you know. You can now have a custom background for conversations and add polls within conversations. Apple Intelligence will suggest when it is useful to add a poll in the conversation.

Other updates:

A dedicated gaming app to track your progress in each game and manage all games through it, and the Apple Music app received a feature for translating song lyrics. A feature for tracking places you've visited before was added to the Maps app, and installment payments were made available in the United States through Apple Wallet.

Availability date:

Apple announced that the developer version of iOS 26 is available starting today, and the first beta version will be available to all users next month, with the final version set to be released in the fall of this year.

Supported phones:

Apple revealed that the iOS 26 update will be available for iPhone 11 and higher.
